Liberation Day

On May 5th the Dutch celebrate freedom, since it is the day that the Netherlands was liberated during the Second World War. Since 2000 the Bevrijdingsfestival (Festival of Freedom) is organised in the Stadspark. There’s something for everyone: music, art, theatre and lots of food and drinks. Divided over six different stages many international and national artists will perform. There’s also a Square for the Inner Peace, an information market, a Local Heroes stage and much more.

This year the highlights of the festival are Typhoon, Kensington, Kovacs, Ali B, the Lumineers and many more. For the full program, click here.
