Light up the Run
On May 29th at 9 pm the first edition of this running event is taking place. ‘Light up the run’ is an alternative to the KleuRun. You will run five kilometres through the Stadspark in Groningen, with the entire track illuminated by spectacular light shows. The aim of Light up the Run is to collect money for Stichting Spieren voor Spieren, a non-profit organisation for children with a muscle disease.
There are around 20.000 children in the Netherlands who are limited by a muscle disease in their everyday life. For these children, it’s not self-evident to run, play sports and go outside with their friends. In order to give these children a better future, Light up the Run is organised to collect money for Stichting Spieren voor Spieren.
Light up the Run is a running event by night in which participants run five kilometres through the Stadspark. They don’t have to fear for bone fractures, because the track will be illuminated by a spectacular light show. They will run through different light zones which all have a different theme. It’s not about how fast you can run, but about the overall experience during the race.
All the profits will be donated to Stichting Spieren for Spieren. They will give children with a muscle disease and their parents a better future.
