Sometimes there’s space for beautiful things, not because they are screaming for attention, but because they are just there. In the month of June five films will be shown in the Groninger Forum of Yasujiro Ozu, the Japanese master of the small gestures and the big but concealed emotions. EYE Amsterdam releases Tokyo story once again in film theatres and adds for other classic Ozu-titles. The sixth – Late spring (Banshun) – is expected to be released this fall.
The first edition is the film ‘Tokyo Story’ on June 2nd. The film will start at 7 pm and will be introduced by Leo van Hee (programmer at EYE).
