Be it during the busy exam periods or during the academic year when in need of writing a paper, every student in Groningen needs to know where the libraries are. The good news is that Groningen houses a big number of libraries which are perfectly equipped in terms of online database, books and journals, computers, printers, workplaces, and even good coffee and vending machines with snacks, basically anything a student can need.

  • University Library - city centre

The University Library opposite Academy Building is the biggest of them all. There you can borrow books, reserve a study room, and use a computer work station in case you don’t bring your own laptop. Every spot in this library has access to a socket. Moreover, the library has its own Starbucks on the ground floor and two big balconies, on the second and fourth floor, which are great places for students to enjoy their study breaks. The University Library also has a mobile app available for Android and iOS where students can get very useful information about opening hours, available computer workspaces, and much more. Moreover, at the Academy Building there is a restaurant where you can get cheap but tasty dinner meals at weekdays.

  • The Faculty of Arts Library in the Harmony Building

The Faculty of Arts Library in the Harmony Building offers 240 work places and a big number of computers. It’s in the same building as the Faculty of Law Library.
