Do you have resolutions for 2018? The new year has already started and this means that students need to abandon their warm beds in order to go to school again and study for final exams. However, the question is: do students have resolutions for 2018?
Kamila is twenty-two years old and she studies International Communication at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences. Kamila’s resolution for 2018? ‘I just finished my minor in Brussels. Since I am in my third year now, I have to do my internship next semester. I hope that I will be able to complete it successfully and grow professionally through it. Personally, I would like to visit at least two new countries and improve my French and Dutch language skills.’
Hyeonsoo is twenty-five years old. At the moment he will stay in Groningen for a while, where he studies ‘The Campaign’ at the Hanze University. Hyeonsoo’s resolution is short but powerful. ‘I want to quit smoking. It is really difficult for me, but I am going to try to do this.’ Let’s hope Hyeonsoo will succeed.
‘Resolutions? No, I do not have them. That never works.’ Sybrenne is twenty years old and she studies Multimedia, Concepting & Design. ‘I do not understand why people put so much pressure on starting good or healthy in January. If I want to have a resolution such as healthy eating, I will start in another month.’
The opinions about resolutions for 2018 are divided. Clearly, not everyone is so happy with it. Some people even think that it is better to leave resolutions in 2017. Personally, I think it is a great idea to believe in resolutions, as long as you do not exaggerate it. Eventually, life’s got to stay student proof (read: enjoying life while you can). What about you? Did you already think about your resolutions for 2018?
