Card games are a great way to liven up any party or get-together with friends. With a deck of playing cards, you can create endless possibilities for fun and festive games that are sure to bring laughter and good times. Here are five of the most fun card games you can play with the playing cards you received through your mailbox if you went to the open day of the Hanze last weekend!

Kings Cup

Kings Cup is a classic game that is played with a deck of cards and a large cup in the middle of the table. Players take turns picking up cards and following the designated actions associated with each card, such as taking a drink, giving a drink, or pouring some of their drink into the cup in the center. The game continues until all the cards have been picked up, and the person who drew the last card must drink the contents of the cup in the center.

Here are the rules for each card:

Ace - Waterfall. Each player starts drinking at the same time as the person to their left. NO player can stop drinking until the person before them stops.

Two - You. Whoever draws this can choose anyone to take a drink.

Three - Me. The person who draws this takes a drink.

Four - Floor. The last person to touch the floor takes a drink.

Five - Guys. All the guys at the table drink.

Six - Chicks. All the girls at the table drink.

Seven - Heaven. If you pick this card, raise your hand above your head. Every other player must do this as well. The last person takes a sip.

Eight - Mate. Choose someone to be your buddy. For the rest of the game, they drink when you drink.

Nine - Rhyme. You say a word, then the person to your right has to say a word that rhymes. This continues until someone can't think of a word. That person takes a sip. You can't reuse words.

Ten - Categories. Come up with a category of things. The person to your right must name something that falls within the category. This continues until someone can't think of something. That person takes a sip.

Jack - Never Have I Ever. Everyone plays Never Have I Ever.

Queen - Questions. Ask someone a question. That person then asks someone else a question. This continues until someone messes up or fails to ask a question. That person takes a sip. No question can be repeated.

King - King's Cup. Set a rule to be followed, for example stand on one foot when you drink, only speak in an accent, etcetera.

High or Low

High or Low is a simple and straightforward game that requires no more than a deck of cards and a drink. Players take turns drawing cards and guessing whether the next card will be higher or lower than the current card. If they guess correctly, the game continues to the next person, but if they guess incorrectly, they must take a drink. The game ends when all the cards have been drawn.

Spoons

Spoons is a fast-paced drinking game that is played with a deck of cards, a table and a set of spoons. The purpose of the game is to be the first to grab a spoon when a designated card has been picked, the last person to grab a spoon needs to take a drink. The game is played by passing cards around the table and picking cards one at a time, with players trying to collect four of a kind in their hand. When someone gets four of a kind, they grab a spoon, and the other players must try to grab a spoon. The last one left without a spoon must take a drink.

Fuzzy Duck

This game is played with a deck of playing cards and requires speed and concentration. The game begins by picking a card from the deck and quickly saying "fuzzy duck" or "does he" depending on the card drawn. If someone makes a mistake or responds late, they must take a sip.

President

This strategy-based game is played with only a deck of cards. The game is played by dealing cards to each player, with the person holding the lowest card being the "president" and the person with the next lowest card being the "vice-president." Players then take turns playing cards, with the goal being to get rid of all their cards first. If a player cannot play a card, they must take a drink, and the last person with cards remaining has to take a large sip.

In conclusion, card games are a great way to bring friends together and add some excitement to a party or get-together. And with the cards you received you also get to know Groningen a little more. So, invite your friends, grab your deck of cards and get ready for some fun and excitement!
